Should you come to Carmel Bahá'í School this year?
Here are a few questions to help you decide:
-
Are you the only Bahá'í in your school, or the only youth in your Bahá'í community?
-
Miss seeing other Bahá'ís your age?
-
Feel like you need to be around other Bahá'ís and their friends, so you can talk about what it's like to be a Bahá'í?
-
Need spiritual support and new enthusiasm so you can go home more confident in yourself and your Faith?
-
Ever been asked, “What is this Bahá'í thing?” and suddenly felt tongue-tied?
-
Want young, enthusiastic Bahá'í school teachers who can relate to you and the
problems you face? -
Miss the good old days of camp with swimming and hiking, games and crafts, talent shows and campfires?

-
Feel like the youth in your community are being ignored…or maybe they’re asked to do too much?
-
Want to know how to get your community to listen to you?
-
Want to know how you can make a difference in the world?
-
Want to experience what a community of Bahá'ís and their friends would be like?
-
Want to make friendships that can last a lifetime?

If you answered yes to any of these
questions,
come spend a week at Carmel Bahá'í School this summer!
-
You’ll meet other Bahá'ís and friends of Bahá'ís.
-
You’ll spend time talking with other youth, your teachers and your awesome counselors about the struggles you are facing.
-
You’ll learn how to better tell people about your Faith and how to communicate with your own Bahá'í community.
-
You’ll get to play field games, go swimming, eat s'mores, make crafts, be in a talent show—all the great camp activities.
-
You’ll also get to participate in spiritually uplifting events, like the evening of honoring the martyred early believers.
-
All this, and making close friends with people who share the Faith with you.
Activities! Carmel has something for everyone
Besides studying, role-playing and talking with others
during classes, you'll go to morning devotions in the lodge, enjoy
crafts, sports and group games in the field, entertaining evening
programs, and just hanging out with your friends. And at night, you'll
bunk in cabins with other young women or men your own age.
Carmel's Cabin Counselors
Carmel’s students are led by mature, deepened Bahá'í
youth counselors, trained to serve as guides and mentors
for the students in their cabins. Counselors lead their cabins
through the transitions and routines of daily life at Carmel, from wake-up
to lights out, and actively seek out ways to promote bonding and
group unity in their cabins. During evening cabin time, counselors
lead prayers and group consultation, with a big focus on the
issues facing youth today, like how to apply the principles of the Faith
to your everyday life.
Even the Dawnbreakers had spiritually invigorating retreats before they went out on the battlefield.
